Datil & Limon market branding

This smoothie and juice bar meets cafe concept in Mexico has a classic brand identity designed by Biennial Communication. The brand has simple layouts with heritage style type that harkens to a time when local eating wasn’t by choice, but because that’s what was available. The name translates directly to Date & Lemon, which focuses the idea on raw vegan lifestyle. I love the way the agency uses low-cost applications like a pre-printed tip-on for packaging, but maintains a higher level of style and design. They’ve also left the door open for using hand-rendered script on certain elements, but not in a way that’s forced or mimicked. It’s utilitarian, but still supports the overall vibe of the brand.
