Big Ditch Brewing Company is a brewery, taproom, and restaurant based out of Buffalo, NY. Block Club was tasked with re-branding the brewery as it moved to a bigger location and encompassed the brewery’s values of Strength, Pride, and Ambition. They took Big Ditch’s signature shovel and incorporated it into several touchpoints across the brand, my favorite being the use as a tap handle. Their name comes in part from the ‘big ditch’ that was the Erie Canal, and many collateral pieces feature renderings of old Erie Canal maps, or an embossed water texture. The brand overall is rugged and hardworking but not lacking in approachability.
