The brand identity design for Bimbo, a small coffee bar in Ukraine, is spearheaded by a strong, simple typographical treatment, but comes to live with pen and ink, simple illustrations. The suite of illustrations are found throughout many touch points that collectively create an art-centric feel for the brand. The brand typography comes through in other areas to string together the visuals. The type is a semi-light, compressed face with hints at serifs and, most notably, points at the centers of the letterforms. It’s a bit gothic and masculine, but that’s offset by the illustrations to keep things from going to far into that feel.
