Chez Olivier restaurant branding

This beautiful restaurant brand is courtesy of our friends in Australia, Swear Words. They employ a classic style with slight hand-made feel to deliver an approachable brand identity for this restaurant. The design style falls into what I’ve been calling “lo-fi”. I hate to say it’s “bad design” by design, because it’s great. But in some ways it sort of is “bad design”. There’s something nostalgic about the feel created using dated typography that’s imperfect. There’s something “crafted” about the look and Swear Words executes it on another level. If design is meant to communicate emotion and set a visual tone for a brand, than this ticks the box and then some. Fantastic work.
