It’s never too late to remember the old advertising adage: “Sex sells.” Nola’s Fresh Foods turned to that technique when they hired MDG to help with branding and the result is as pleasing to the eyes as Nola’s hopes their salsa is to stomachs. “Think June Cleaver meets a Vargas pin-up” was the inspiration behind Ms. Nola and it seems to work. The use of her as a primary branding image gives some authenticity to the brand and also helps establish a perceived longer history for Nola’s than actually exists. The logo created for Nola’s is pretty straight forward and to the point, but the use of the pinup gives Nola’s a lot of flexibility when it comes to future branding and advertising efforts.
