Island Creek Oysters is an oyster farm on the Duxbury Bay in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Oat Design handled their branding and they wanted to create a brand that reflected the lifestyle of those that produce some of the cleanest oysters in the world. The branding has a weathered feel with imagery straight from the shore. The life of a fisherman can be a tough one and that tone is picked up subtly in the work. While the logo work and packaging carries a nautical theme, something that is tough to escape given the product, it’s balanced by the polished appeal the brand manages to create. I love the refined nature the brand projects and it’s somewhat unexpected in a world of seafood marketing that sometimes has more machismo than necessary.
