How would you capture the feeling of a French road trip, starting in Paris and ending in the countryside, meeting warm people along the way? The Lab Saigon tries to answer that question with the brand and interior design they developed for Cafe Marcel, an all-day French Eatery in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Inspired by the family-owned inns and road signs of the French countryside, they developed a warm and inviting visual language filled with bright colors, whimsical illustrations, and lightheartedness. My favorite part about this brand is the use of illustrations; there are so many of them, each of the different and fun and filled with so much personality. The landscape illustrations are breathtaking, and act as postcards, letting the viewer feel like they too are on this French roadtrip.
