It’ not everyday that a designer gets to be part of creating a bar from start to finish, helping name it, design the space, and create all the collateral for it. Jenny Boehme worked with her husband to create Eugene’s Canteen, named after her husbands’ grandfather, a WWII veteran. The space they created leans mid-century modern with military-inspired accents; shields, patches, badges, eagles, stencil letters, etc. The main wordmark for Eugene’s is inspired by old-school bar neon lighting, offset with the military-esque stencil lettering; this creates a really interesting dynamic, balancing soft and hard, feminine and masculine.
