Mad Food Company Branding and Art Direction by The Lab Studios

Pizza with street flair? Yes, we’ve seen this before but rarely is it bashed together with design elements from other industries. Mad Food Co.’s branding incorporates the streetwear photography direction often seen in the likes of Urban Outfitters or Supreme. The combination of photography, texture, overlapping elements, bold lines, colors, and unapologetic labels creates a hip and edgy atmosphere that elevates the “gritty” pizza stereotype with a layer of graphical polish not typically seen within this genre of restaurants.

Chia-Yu is a senior designer with an illustration problem he tries not to confront or talk about at Vigor, a restaurant & beverage branding & marketing agency. His love of strange design quirks, sci-fi creature designs, exotic foods, Asian whiskeys, and dry humor makes him equal parts weird and surprisingly adept at navigating client requests. He writes here occasionally to please his boss(es).
