I love when a bakery brand takes an unexpected approach with its look. For Sullivan Street Bakery, designer Phillip Nessen took inspiration from New York City’s industrial signage and ironwork. A gorgeous deep green color is the only color in the palette, but that’s not a complaint. Paired with a dense, bespoke pattern, the singular use of color creates an elegant and instantly-ownable look. The pattern, thanks to its modularity, works well across a suite of touchpoints, all varying in sizes, such as individual bread bags. This pattern also wraps beautifully around coffee cups and menus; Nessen manages to use the same asset in a multitude of ways without tiring the viewers’ eyes.
