Sometimes I try to figure out where a brand vibe places me. If it’s a really good branding job, it’ll take me almost right to the place the brand makers had in mind. In the case of Hotel Daniel, designed by Moodley Brand Identity, I’m taken to an upscale, young and foreign hotel shortly after the turn of the last century. Hotel Daniel caters to an international traveler, a person with some income to spend and a desire for vacation locales that are a little out-of-the-ordinary. Though Hotel Daniel is located in a historic building in central Vienna, there are some American accents in the presentation. Using a predominately masculine brand vibe, Hotel Daniel incorporates wood and leather along with copper to influence the subtly vintage look. Hotel Daniel is definitely a “good place to stay overnight” and it mixes masculine with more traditional hospitality traits very well to create a hotel and restaurant with a luxurious feel without being ornate, unsuitable for your mom and dad.
