In the early 20th century, Mexico was in a constant flux. During the time of the Porfirio Diaz administration, Mexico saw a surge of cultural influence and invasion. Parisian influences mixed with Mexican culture to create a “modern” Mexico. Epoca is a visual and experiential journey through the results of that moment in time.
From the illustrations through the use of patterns and art deco style interior elements, the brand of Epoca stands on its own. It’s moody, unique, and nostalgic. The duotone illustrations are a meld of classic Mexican styles with fresh, new artisan techniques. They easily become a monotone pattern that’s used throughout different touchpoints as a memorable, unique accoutrement. The mixing of Paris and Mexico come through quite brilliantly throughout as Estudio Yeye gives us a look into a rich history brought into the now.
