Green Hat Gin Branding and Packaging by Design Army

Green Hat Gin, by New Columbia Distillers, is the first hard-spirits distiller in Washington, DC since Prohibition. Agency Design Army took this fact and ran with it, using Prohibition-era newspaper clippings and dust-bowl catalog clippings as inspiration for the look and brand personality.

While the packaging is basically the same across all the varieties of gin that they offer, I think the different colors and hat-illustrations differentiate each bottle enough from the others. And, considering each gin is small batch, they also hand-stamp and write details specific to that batch on each bottle, which personalizes each label further. I also have to hand it to Design Army for assigning a different hat to encapsulate each gin cocktail’s personality on the Green Hat Gin website.

Hats off to Design Army for branding and packaging.
