Happy as Larry is a non-conventional food truck that serves true Napoli style wood fired pizza in Sydney, Australia. It’s bigger than your average food truck, and was converted from a shipping container using recycled materials. Equally astounding is that it’s equipped with a full commercial kitchen, and a 2.2 ton (~4850 lbs) hand-built wood fire oven imported from Naples. Their visual identity is both playful and elegant, incorporating a customized type treatment that references traditional Italian shop signage, and a crest that resembles the Napoli flag. These elements are expressed beautifully across the truck, in hand-painted type and gorgeous neon signage. I especially love the large windows of the truck, exposing its insides. Most food trucks have a very small window so it’s hard for the customer to see how things are being done in there, but Happy as Larry leaves nothing to the imagination.
