A new venture from Vinegar Hill House, VHH Foods is a café and catering team on the Brooklyn waterfront. The MP Shift worked closely with the VHH team to reflect their new location’s Mid Century architecture and to also inject an eclectic and fun energy into their otherwise strict brand language. While the bold lines and colors pay homage to Piet Mondarian’s Composition with Red, Blue, and Yellow, the design team managed to introduce a sense of whimsy by introducing typography and shapes that were not confined by the strict geometric grids. These floating type treatments ride the line between fun and awkward in a way that gives it a warm, child-like playfulness. A memorable and unique visual language that not only makes VHH Foods memorable but also highly welcoming, warm, and approachable.
