The Spanish love doing untraditional things with their wine; ‘Tinto de Verano” or ‘tint of summer’ is a red wine spritzer that was invented in Cordoba in the early 20th century. Rojito wanted to bring that Spanish tradition and introduce it to us Americans, in canned form of course. With three SKUs to be introduced onto the market, designers at Panamera were challenged to create a brand that stood out from other canned wines on the shelves, but also translated effortlessly to other kinds of beverages. The solution of having the brand name in a gorgeous, ultra-thick serif running up the side of the can works well to differentiate it. A simple script, tenderly cradling the corner of the logotype acts as the SKU name, with color being the only difference between the designs otherwise. The use of striped pattern on the upper half of the can creates visual noise that draws the eye, and also visually references striped lounge chairs usually associated with beachy days spent on the Mediterranean.
