Good Mexican in Singapore seems a little needle-in-a-haystackish, but Lucha Loco presents a damn fine dish of Mexican street food and they have super clever branding, courtesy of Bravo Company. Lucha Loco sounds a little like lucha libre, doesn’t it? Lucha libre, they of the Mexican professional wrestling and colorful masks fame. Well Lucha Loco takes the similarities and runs with them. The entire presentation of the restaurant revolves around imagery from Mexican lucha libre and the things they might say to you. The vibe is raw and intentionally so. Bravo Company wanted the place to feel lived in, not ancient, but around long enough to get some wear and tear and be able to tell good stories. They get extra credit for business cards moonlighting as wrestler trading cards.
