I’m usually not a big fan of black, white and red color palettes. They immediately look Japanese steakhouse/hibachi to me. Obviously due to overuse in that category. Despite my preconceived distaste for the palette, the design and brand identity work for Cumpanis immediately grabbed my attention.
Cumpanis is a classic bakery brand in Costa Rica. Despite it’s historic roots, the brand is elevated by modern design aesthetics, while showcasing the craft of process and product excellently. Throughout the brand’s touch points, restraint is displayed creating a disciplined look and feel. Algthough simple in execution, the confidence in design technique is apparent and implemented wonderfully.
