Poke Poke Interior Design by Studio DOHO

Poke Poke is situated on the ground floor of an old Shanghainese lane house in the Jing’an District of the city, and is a modern eatery that reflects the Hawaiian origins of its product while constrained to a very small space. The exterior and interior design is fun, colorful, and laidback, using lovely tilework that is reminiscent of old-school public pool spaces, and exterior bars shaped like surfboards. I love the multiple fish motifs used throughout the space; the decorative sculptural pieces are done well without feeling kitschy, and the table numbers are subtly also shaped like fish.
