East Street Cider Co, Branding & Packaging by makebardo

East Street Cider Co was established in 1856 with the opening of the Runciman Foundry in Goderich, ON. In the 160 years since its founding, the building has been home to various businesses and products. Today, East Street honors its inhabitants (past and present) and creates ciders worthy of that heritage.
The brand and its subsequent packaging highlights the historic building and makes it the cornerstone of this visual identity. The bricks makes its way into other touchpoints of the brand, on the apple icon for example. The typographic lockup used in the logo is also reminiscent of old building broadside signage, and the outline in gold gives it a sophisticated flair. I especially like the use of the building illustration as packaging tape for their larger boxes.
