Bread & Love represents Mexican pastry chef Regina Lafon’s first foray into her own concept, brought lovingly to life by the creative team at Yeye Design. Drawing visual inspiration from breads’ origin in Greece, the brand features a typical blue and white palette and monolithic illustrations, interpreting the stories of Greek mythology through a carb-heavy lens. This old-meets-new theme is carried over across the established type system, too. Modern sans serif with a techy-lilt contrast sharply against calligraphic scripts, creating a playful tension across the visual system. The brand copy is rife with puns that only make sense to a Spanish-speaker, but again add to that playful energy that seems to be a focal point.
