Branding Historical Context

Brown’s Court Bakery derived its name from its historic location in Charleston, South Carolina. As Nudge created the Browns’ Court brand, they relied on the historical significance of the bakery’s setting to craft an image with an appropriate historical context. Nudge created a custom typeface for Brown’s Court, a cursive script with a faded quality signifying the time-honoredness of the bakery. These themes are carried on inside the shop with exposed bricks and the 19th-century door sign. Clever quirks like the clear glass menu board that shows the bricks behind it and popular shades of brown and blue give the bakery the necessary modern touches. It all comes together in a clean, respectful branding. And they get bonus points for the pristine bike delivery cart.
